Default early season topping

i have one cherry plant (sun peach) about 5-6 feet tall. It shot straight up like a rocket. All my other cherries, hybrids and grafted heirlooms are about half the height and bushy. It split into 2 main stems at about the 4 foot height and has a couple small suckers growing.

Thoughts on topping this plant to stop vertical growth and promote growth from the suckers?

You can top the plant and let the suckers take over, for sure, if you want your plant bushy instead of tall.
