Colorado Potato Beetle
http://www.durgan.org/2015/June%2020...20Beetle/HTML/ The Colorado Potato Beetle has surfaced on my potatoes. These are pictures of the hatched eggs, no adults have been seen to date. Due to my small number of plants they are hand picked as necessary for control. They cannot be ignored since complete destruction of the foliage will result is allowed to mature.

Try some captain Jacks dead bug brew... also known as Spinosad. It works wonders on these nasty beetles. unless of course you would rather battle them by hand.

I only have a few plants about 50 or so. I can cope by hand picking. About four years ago I had around 100 plants and picked about 2000 bugs. The next year I had almost none. Actually the bugs probably like the eggplant more than the potatoes.

I have a real problem with them here, so I do preventative sprays. Garden Safe is my choice as it does triple duty - Fungicide, insecticide, mitacide. It has an organic rating.
