Default Hey Northeasterners you runnin' behind a couple weeks?

Garden seems late this year by a couple weeks I'm guessing from the cool start. Anyone else?
Just starting to get 1-2 sungold, not enough to make a salad yet.

Yup, everything is late. We are just harvesting peas now. Still have peas and beans in the freezer from last year, they are dated 2 weeks earlier.

I just started picking a few tomatoes last week (blushing, not fully ripe), which is late for me. I'm hoping the plants survive this next heat wave!

Zucchini went out at the same time they do every year and so far I only have two baby zucchini on two of the four plants. This is also late.

Peppers and eggplant, on the other hand, seem to be running a bit ahead of schedule. Last week we had stuffed peppers made with Allis Market Half Sharps, and I roasted two eggplant for a pizza topping.

I think it's late.

My peas are done, but only because I planted them really early - in April!

Very few baby cukes yet and the tomatoes seem late too. Thank goodness I grew some early compacts as we've enjoyed Jagodka and Russian Cherry. In the garden it's just been a few Sungolds and a couple of dwarfs. Arctic Rose and Rosella Purple.

Our July weather has been miserable! Peas are only now beginning to flower.

I have small tomatoes from the greenhouse since the second week of July - they are early and very cool tolerant F2's mostly from my breeding program - so glad I decided to mostly grow out those crosses this year, and just a few midseason types. Those are having a tough time, but even the larger fruited early, cool tolerant ones are only now blushing first fruit or not yet.

Both early (SunGold at 51 DTM from transplanting/79 days from sowing seeds), and likely a lot that will be late.

My garden this year is basically The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Not a ripe tomato yet. Plenty eggplants, pepper, etc but not a red, yellow, black, orange, pink striped in sight. Patiently waiting. Slab bacon is in freezer and plenty flour for baking in the closet.

been picking three or four everyday for about two weeks now which is normal for me this time of year. if this heat wave we have doesn't shut them down I should have them coming out my ears in a week or so.

Not as good as last year this time, but have plenty of tomatoes to give away and still make sauce. Some plants actually started declining in vigor, but others are kicking in. "Morning harvest" thread shows a few pics.

Peppers, zukes, cukes and greens are plentiful. Many greens are spent and I'm thinking of starting new seeds for fall planting. Only ones running behind are eggplants.

I kinda feel like its been my best garden yet... better than last years... my cukes are kicking into ultra high gear and lots of tommys too.

Taboule, what do you plant for fall given you are even higher than I am?

Hi, this year i'd like to start some sweet peas (I missed to grow them in the spring) and just a few greens, lettuce and some mesclun mix. Pretty basic.

Not one ripe tomato on any of my 20 varieties. Not even cherries. This is way late.

Greens, cukes and zuckes doing great. Carrots are as sweet as candy.

Well the stats are just in - we had the coldest July on record, average daily high 60.4 F, and in the whole month we had a total of 23 HOURS above 68 F. Talk about running behind..
