This will be the thread for any questions on varieties and experimental non-varieties.

I'll start with my own contribution...

"Miss Scarlet"

Full name - "Miss Scarlet In The Kitchen With The Knife"
Ind, RL, red heart (slicer), F-5?, borderline exceedingly sweet.
It showed up in a trial of an F4 experimental gold heart. I don't know if the F4 was pure, or crossed with another heart.

This will also be a thread to correct spelling of varieties, like...

Ok so I got a few varieties in the MMMM that I can find little or no info on. Help me out if you can please!

Nowicki - Cant find any info

Efimir - found 1 post that said it was a good early but nothing else.

Cabin Fever - cant find anything

Angoor lata - from Desert Jonathan, cant find any info

Thanks to the links from Heirloom Tomato Guy, I learned that Efimer is also called Efemer. Turns out that it's a red beefsteak which sounds compact. There are no comments on taste though......

Nowicki came into the swap last year listed as a heart. Seemed to be kind of a plum/paste, to me.

Ef____ is early, I just don't know how early, as I started it and transplanted it very late (and lost the notes on when I started it).

If it is a very early variety (<55 DTM), it will be my new "very early" favorite. Size is consistent (6-8 ounces), production is good, it bears for a long while for a determinate, and it tastes better than all of the very earlies I've trialed.

Thanks so much, any pics of Nowicki? Orcan you think of a variety it is similar to in appearance? How would you rate Cabin Fever compared to say Brandywine, which is a waste of time here in my climate. Off to PM Jonathan

Vent Marin lists Angoor Lata. My limited French says one source is/was from a Canadian seed bank?

A search by the PI number may help.

All it says is that is a tomato from the Canadian seed bank. No description.

WOW, I was wondering when I'd start hearing from people who received Angoor Lata. Your the first.

Cherry type, Indeterminate, likes to become a bush if you're like me and forget to sucker it.

It has very good flavor (your taste buds may differ from mine) and I'd call it more of a large cherry sized fruit rather than a small fruit. The Indian Agricultural Center (or whatever they like to call themselves) say's that it's high in Ascorbic Acid. VITIMINE C.

"Angoor " in Indian and Persian means "grape" . So it must be a grape shape not cherry.

Here is what i found on on Indian web page about Angoor Lata aka Angurlata.
Angurlata Released by Department of Agriculture, Uttar Pradesh, Oval variety
CFC 98 Released by processing industry, high TSS.
The above varieties have higher TSS, higher fruit with fewer locules and seeds. They have good transport quality and bright red colored pulp.
