It's hot, so that means Cuke time.
Hot weather means cucumbers, so here's my list of what I started in 4-in pots, 6-8 seeds in each. I usually keep the 3 hardiest ones.
Boothby's Blonde Calypso Delikatesse Hoffman's Johanna Monika Muncher Richmond Green Apple Sagami Hanjiro Spacemaster Super Zagross White Emerald They will have constant hydration and lots of hand-holding, and if necessary hand-pollination too! |

Exactly Gerardo, it's too hot for this time of year and while we might dip down into the 70's for a couple of days this week, after that the 7-day forecast is 80's and even 90's again. I miss my winter, short and mild as it is here. We need rain!
So like you, I'm gonna start my cukes and zukes too! I'm gonna have to hustle this weekend and turn in the cover crops. Maybe I should wait another week or two before sowing seeds then. |

I too started cukes, zukes, bush beans, and watermelons tonight. 32 plants total. Its way yo hot to not be starting all the summer fruits and veggies.

What? No Lemon cukes this year, Gerardo? I plan to try them this year along with Armenian cukes. Did you ever find seed for the Armenian?

Armenian seeds should be easy to find- nearly every garden shop rack has them.

Armenian is still on my list of things to purchase next time I'm at Lowe's; for some strange reason I seem to avoid that store and always head to HD. |

That's strange-I instinctively head for Home Depot too. Lowe's, meh.

I'll get my hands on some. Sounds like a great one. 14 in, if I get half of that it'll be acceptable.

All I am growing is Boston pickling cucumber and the watermelons are Orange Tendersweet and Georgia Rattlesnake. Not for sure how I am going to pull the watermelon off yet. Worth |

Those little Boston picklers are versatile and prolific.
Heard great things about the Georgia R, and the other one looks like an Orangeglo. I know you'll find some decent homes for them. |

Worth, do you have a few extra seeds of the Boston Pickler that you could share? I can't find them anywhere.
