Deeply Rooted: Saving Our Seeds & Stories

Renown seed saver, Master Gardener, and classically trained artist John Coykendall, has spent the past 40 years travelling to Louisiana, saving the heirloom seeds and illustrating and documenting more than 80 volumes of oral histories, foodways and farming traditions of a rural Louisiana Parish. It a restorative, feel-good program grounding us to the earth and the food we eat by rooting us to our past and future.

I'm not sure if this will be aired nationwide but I did read somewhere you can watch it online but I don't have the link.

As a longtime,lifetime SSE member since 1989, but no longer a listed member by choice,I got an e-mail with the same info.

I'm glad they will be on PBS since IMO SSE has their problems right now and if they can get new members it might or might not help.

You'll find several threads here at Tville if you do a search where someone is asking if it is a good idea to pay the money and join. And I answer as best I can,with the plusses and minuses.

When my to do list allows for it I will send an e-mail to John Torgrimson and share with him my concerns and possible ways of turning things around for the better.
