BOOM Flavor Bombs
We were at Sams and the below zero weather got us to bite on Sunset Flavor Bombs. The packaging entices the tomato lover with the suduction of the south of France. Grown in Michigan. 1.75# for $5.98.
They look very nice. Texture is firm and crunchy, and rather juicy. Flavor is intense--big burst of acid, followed by subtle sweetness, and actually some tomato flavor. The flavor lingers for quite a while in a pleasant way. A nice treat in the middle of winter--especially if you enjoy an nice tart tomato. Definitely looks like some S. pimpinellifolium in its genetics. |

Looks and sounds good.
In the winter time/ off season I mostly buy cherry/grape type tomatoes. In general, IMO, they are much tastier than beefsteak grocery store tomatoes. And they have good shelf life as well. Few weeks ago I bought some "Compari " cocktail size. Not tasty at all.
