Aunt Ruby's German Green vs. Green Giant

Hi Friends,
I wanted your opinion as to which big green is your favorite between Aunt Ruby's Green vs. Green Giant. I have not grown either but would like to grow one this season.

Aunt Ruby's was a real producer but the deer ate all of the tomatoes.

I have not grown ARGG, but highly recommend Green Giant.

jm, can you review and tell us more about GG ?
I have seeds for ARGG and want to grow it. I am told that it is sweeter. That is what interests me. I don't like acidic GWR tomato.

From my taste log regarding Green Giant I had taste at 8.5 and said this:

Large clear skinned green beefsteaks. Juicy, sweet, rich and zesty flavor. Impressive production, esp late. PL foliage was somewhat tolerant of Septoria.

I definitely recall it being sweet, but also possessing another dimension to the flavor that I really enjoyed.

I usually grow one GG plant a year, they are very tasty.

Green Giant was a monster for me last year, my first year and will be back again!

Good amount of large, smooth, delicious tomatoes with wonderful, but different flavor. Flavor is like most greens.

Definitely a must try.

Aunt Ruby's GG was the first non-red that I ever grew, and I remember thinking it was great. It was years later that I grew Green Giant and liked that as well. Since I didn't grow them side by side, it's not fair to compare them, but you can't go wrong with either. As I remember, Green Giant was more consistent and uniform in size, but that could have been a seasonal thing as well.

I loved them both - but Aunt Ruby's has always set more tomatoes for me.
