Default Monocot?

I've seen "dicots" mentioned here a good bit, but haven't seen much on "monocots"...

My little mitoyo eggplant seedling has but one (rather large) cotyledon- still a good plant?

got a picture? but a monocot is a grass or grain plant. that is why 2-4d works on lawns to spray for weeds such as buckhorn, clover, trefoil, dandelions etc and lets the grass continue to grow uninterrupted.

see how wide it is? And look at that middle area of lighter green? The snake tongue looking leaf tip? It's like the two cotyledons got fused together.

As said, this is Mitoyo eggplant.

can you see a tiny bud at the the juncture of the cotyledon... or at least what should be the juncture?

The only Mitoyo eggplant? No.
The only monocot? Yes

I have a Monocot!! It's a Lithium Sunset, I believe. I'll post a pic tomorrow from the lab!

There doesn't appear to be any stem growing up from the cot, it's just sitting there.
