Zapotec Tomato
Picked my first Zapotec of the season! It really is a pretty good tomato.

I have grown it before and it is good, but I have to stop looking at these tomatoes.

I know it generally gets middling to negative reviews around here, but Zapotec is listed as a favorite by people like Gayla Trail and Margaret Roach. I've always wondered whether they were growing a completely different tomato!

Looks very nice. pmc. You avatar picture also depicts green ones.
I love ribbed tomatoes, a departure from round smooth skin grocery store sold ones. Would want you tell also more about it ? : Growth habit, DTM, productivity, ..etc.. Thanks

The Zapotec plants this year have around 10 large tomatoes and around 10 smaller tomatoes (which will ripen later) and blooms, so I'm guessing 25-35 tomatoes from each plant. Haven't weighed them but I'm guessing they are around a pound a piece. If you are interested in any ruffled tomato seeds I'm growing contact me later in season, I'd be happy to mail you some. All of them are worth growing. |

Thanks for the review of your Zapotec. If it ripened before Big Beef then it must be ERARLY to MID season, about 70 days. The plant size sounds compact and production sounds good to me. Thanks for the offer. Yes , I like ruffled tomatoes. I will contact you later in the season about seeds.
