My Babies

These are my seedlings I just put into 4' pots this past weekend. I started them in Jiffy 7 peat pellets. All 129 of them. I planted the seeds 11 and 12 March in the Jiffy 7's. I took these pictures in the late afternoon after being in the soon all day. I grew them under a ceiling light fixture initally which had 3 T8 Vita Lite Power Twists rated at 40watts each running off of electronic ballists. Ami

Mmm"- Looks a good set of seedlings Ami, I see that you have also got one of those varigated rubber plants just like me, I recently lifted mine out of the pot and put a good dollop of horse manure in the bottom- makes em' grow like crazy, I cut the top off mine last september and it has branched out into four new branches, the last one I had a few years ago was stood in a tub in front of a window with constant sunlight,- with horse manure in the base of tub. it eventually grew ten feet tall and branches half way round the room.

Right you are Michael. I have it on one of those roll around carts so I can move it, ie for the tomato seedlings.

This particular plant I am growing hydroponically. Ami

Hi Mireille, Normally plant out in Germany is after the "Ice Holies" or "Cold Sophie" which is May 12, 13, and 14. This year I may go for 1 May because of the mild winter we had this year. Ami

good looking babies Ami! I didnt start early enough last year, and mine got all burned up, and mine are about the same size as yours now. Im hardening them off this week, we had our (hopefully!) last hard freeze this week.

gmoth, good to hear your "Babies" are doing well. Last year I started mine a little early so this year I started 2 weeks later. I also kept away from High nitrogen amendments and used some stuff called "Seramis" that has a NPK of 1.8/1.0/2.3 plus trace elements and the seedlings are thriving.
Are my eyes going bad or is your avatar getting some color
