Seed not pure?
I bought seed for Valencia Orange and thought they were supposed to be 4 to 6 oz. fruit but the plant that I did grow out seem to have different sizes and shapes. Some were 1 Lb beefsteaks others were globe 4 oz and some that are still on the vine are almost oxheart. I saved seed from the beefsteak type. any of you more experienced know if this is typical? Or this tomato hasn't sorted itself out whatever it is?

***** It was offered by Johnny's prior to 1994, I didn't check the exact date and is called Valencia, not Valencia Orange/ So it certinly is not still segregating for it was stable when offered, I haven't grown it myself but reading the listings in the SSE YEarbook of folks who have, it should be about 6-8 oz, round and about baseball sized said one person. So I don't know why you're getting several different shaped, all orange on one plant. And if you save seeds go for the ones that are not beefsteak shape that are 6-8 oz and normally almost round. If it were me I'd use a different seed source or grow out more plants from the seeds you have to see what gives.
