I know how some of you hate this and I know better, but we are going to play anyway

My "RED" Brandywine is pink, daggone it and tastes like dirt. Well almost. But, it is the worst tasting tomato, I have ever tasted. It's earthy, musky, no tartness, no sweetness. It caused an immediate revulsion for me and I toss it out.

The guy told me, it was Red brandywine, well actually a cross beween a red & a pink brandywine. I think he was wrong.

It has regular foliage and unlike 90% of my tomatoes, it is loading up with large beefsteak tomatoes. They are light in weight for their size. Keep in mind they don't taste good. I have had Giant Belgium, Howard German, Tappy Finest, German Queen etc. All good. These unknowns don't taste good at all.

Any suggestions at all. Large Pink Beefsteak, Lousey flavor, Tall Plant, regular foliage, big production, even in my bad year.

Cecil, first, would you please answer some of the quesations that I and others have posed in the thread on Country Orange b'c there appear to be some problems and quite a few folks are growing it and some are confused about the origina of this selection, I won't say variety.

If Red Brandywine was crossed with Brandywine the F1 hybrid would have red fruits and RL foliage.

Did he tell you he was giving you F1 plants from that cross?

There's absolutely no way to tell you what you have without knowing more, and even then it wouldn't be a variety that's known since it sounds like a deliberate cross was made.
