Default Question about germination rates...

I have started several varities and have noticed tomatoes like KBX and Aunt Ginnys Purple sprout much slower while Brandywine and Brandy Boy shot up and are growing much larger faster...Is this normal????

My seedlings always pop up in this order:
Sungold
Brandy Boy
Gregori's Altai
and then everything comes up after that.

Every year there are a few stragglers.

ami,

Did you save all your own seeds using the same technique for each? Or are some commercially or 3rd party sourced?

I don't think anyone can say it's normal or not, b/c assuming that all were treated the same the difference in which ones appear first could be directly related to seed age alone and certainly in some cases specific variety, although those are few and far between.

Maidens Kiss and KBX were save by me from last year. Rhodes Heirloom was from Grungy and Neves Azorean Pink was from another grower. All seeds from 2007. KBX and MK were fermented and cleaned with TSP. Ami
