Default Cuil.com Cool way to search tomatoes, etc.

Cuil.com is the latest of the new search engines. It's pronounced "cool"

Quote:
Rather than trying to mimic Google's method of ranking the quantity and quality of links to Web sites, Patterson says Cuil's technology drills into the actual content of a page. And Cuil's results will be presented in a more magazine-like format instead of just a vertical stack of Web links. Cuil's results are displayed with more photos spread horizontally across the page and include sidebars that can be clicked on to learn more about topics related to the original search request.
Finally, Cuil is hoping to attract traffic by promising not to retain information about its users' search histories or surfing patterns—something that Google does
I have found this new search engine to be cool finding magazine type article formats. I did this for my name and Green Zebra tomato and found it entertaining and cool!

I gave cuil.com a shot and was not impressed. Just as a test I did a search (tomato, Toms Yellow Wonder) first at cuil.com and no hits after 4 pages. Did it at google.com and the first 5 entries were on target and one of them was Tania's wiki site. Also don't do as I did and misspell cuil.com and make it culi.com because as I found out culi.com is a porn site. I heard that tomtrees and Worth. Ami

I think in time,(how much I don't know) the search engine will correct some errors. It had an overload the first day.

I find having photos and text as in a magazine style may be helpful in some searches.

1,119,292 results for green zebra tomato with cuil.com

Brings up a combination of photo and text

seems to have duplicates search results. I will alert cuil.com to this error.

Compared to:

image search google.com 55,000 for green zebra tomato
Photos only

web search google.com 57,700 for green zebra tomato
Text only

-----------------

I think it will take some practice to use it on an everyday basis. At this time I have been using it as an alternative search exercise.

I like some of it but it hasn't been around as long as others so things will be different.
as with all search engines

http://www.cuil.com/

Ami I found one of those sites looking for Aunt Gertie's gold one time.

I got lost and forgot what I was looking for to begin with.
