Hi Earl

I grew it back before I was taking pictures ( seeds from J. L. Hudson) but it looked a lot like this rocotillo

My notes also say 24" plant and mild heat. It was late but I started it late and only noted that and not the actual dates ( I keep better notes now).

I've also grown something similarly shaped called Christmas Bell.

Craig

That or a similar pepper may hold the record for different names. Some I have grown
PI 497974 AKA Chapeu de Frade

Pimenta Cambuci

Campane from Italy

Peri Peri

IAC Ubatuba Cambuci

It goes by several other names , including Aji Flor,Orchid, and Bishops Hat

John, your pepper photos are phenomenal! What sort of camera do you use?

Actually inspired to plant some more peppers because of those beautiful pics.

Thanks Farkee
I used to take notes on my peppers and then started photographing to document them. I think it has made me appreciate the beauty and variety of peppers even more.

The earlier ones were taken with an Olympus C3030zoom and the later with an Olympus C5050zoom. I liked them both. The C5050 has the ability to focus closer.

First pepper flower picture of the new year-taken about an hour ago.

Hi Earl,

I also grew it last year. Being from the Baccatum species, My plants were 'Aji like', tall (4ft) and long branching with each plant producing around 30 or so pods. The pods mature from a lime gree colour to red.

The taste of the pods is nothing to write home about. They are thin walled, very mild tasting although the 'wings' of some have a little heat.

Very weird looking though and worth growing for the novelty value.

PM me if you want to swap some seeds

Mark
