My red BC is quite a bit bigger than the real deal. Thanks for that pic bluelytes.

Duane, it's quite fleshy, like a sweet pepper, with the same sweet flavour. There are not too many seeds and they're all near the top. I'd call it hot but not unbearably so. The heat lingers for a while then fades quite quickly. I like it. I'll grow it again because the combination of thick flesh and nice heat means it would make a good sauce. It's early too which suits my short season.

I'm assuming it's just a seed mix up rather than a cross. I got the seeds from TGS. There are another two plants from the same packet. Their fruits are more consistent size-wise but they haven't ripened yet. Time will tell.

Raymondo,

Thanks for following up. I'm glad that you liked the not BC peppers. Below is a picture of one of my plants from last year with some ripe peppers on it. If you need seeds for the "real" BC let me know. I'll be growing BC again this year. Like I say I really liked it especially in the salsa. And, it was a big hit with the Pepper Pack.

Randy

Nice looking plant Randy. Well, my other two are Bulgarian Carrot. Each has given one ripe fruit and they are the right size, shape and colour. Haven't tasted them yet.
BTW, thanks for the offer of seeds Randy. I still have some seeds and now I know at least some of them are true BC, I'm okay for seeds.

Okay, the red fruits are not as hot as BC, still good though, just not as hot. I nibbled the end off a BC expecting to get a small sweet burst of flavour but all I got was a burst of capsaicin! They're early enough, they're pretty, they're hot, and I think they'll make a great orange chilli sauce. I'll be growing them again.
