Default Salt build up

Hello fellow nurses
One of the problems with my plants
seems to be Salt build up.
I rarely use MG for Tomatoes, but have used it half strength.
The plants are in containers and drain well,
I guess the salt could be from the MG, but I water
more often with plain water and see water readily drain
through. If it is my city water causing the salt, what can I do to improve it? Should I use water from the hot tap?
Will letting the water stand, reduce the amount of salt.
Is their a product to add to water that will desalinate?
Use distilled bottle water? Stand on 1 foot and spin around three times?
Any and all help will be most appreciated!

Wildlife-if you are worried about salt buildup, there is a product called Clearex.

My question exactly John, since I have done lots of research on salt build up and it isn't really a problem that home growers have, but can be a problem with commercial farmers who fertilize large areas that they can't get water to if it doesn't fall out of the sky.

Homegrowers water their plants; salt buildup is not a problem. Tap water from municipal sources is not a problem and if from a home well should not be a problem either.

Wildlife, what are your plants doing that made you think of salt buildup?

Since this is the disease and pest Forum I was a bit surprised to see this post here, but rather than move it I see no harm in seeing if you get answers that will help you solve your problem.

So please share all the detailed info about your plants that will allow folks to try and share with you what they think might be wrong with them.
