Default Rugose leaf potato = virus?

I have about a dozen plants of three varieties. Two of my red pontiac plants (same seed potato cut in half I guess) have rugose leaves, like a dwarf tomato. Otherwise they look healthy. They over a foot tall and bushy like all the others but the leaves are not fully expanding. Is that leaf texture a symptom of problems to come?

Yup, virus. I found some pics and description on the internet, and pulled the two plants. What's the point in buying certified seed potatioes if this is going to happen
