Rats like pastrami

I picked up a couple of traps yesterday before lunch and then grabbed a pastrami sandwich to go. Pondering what to bait the traps with as I ate, I took the path of least resistance...

Went out this morning to check on things: Two traps. Two rats.

I might be having the same thing for lunch again today.

Peanut butter always works.

Peanut butter is the flavoring agent in most rat poisons, it works well in traps too. If you have a bad rat problem I recommend you consider using poisoned bait. I know it's not organic or polite, but rats are not good neighbors. I hold nothing back when dealing with rats. I guess it goes back to 20 something years ago when one electrocuted himself by knawing through my central A/C power line which caused me a lot of grief.

I'm really not sure how many there are. We've seen them on phone lines and fence tops as long as we've been in this house – about seven years or so. But never had any in the house or the garage.

What changed is I'm now growing tomatoes in the back yard and they have been doing damage to my toms.

I'll stick with the traps for now and see how it goes. I kinda like the score keeping that goes with the traps. Poisson may be more productive, but the evidence would be less conclusive...
