Wondering if anyone has an id for this ........ three photos from same plant. Weather has been perfect here on the coast last few months, but just went through a few days of heavy rain. The majority of my plants are looking fabulous, but it seems the ones I plant at this location are always the least healthy - more exposure to the elements.
Interesting bit is that this is a black - and in the past I've had this happen to many of my blacks ..... just noticed this yesteray when I was taking individual photos of all my tomato plants. Have since removed all visibly affected foliage ![]()

I have seen that. I have no idea what causes it. The dead
leaf actually looks like a separate issue from the purple/bronze edges in the second picture (see how the stem is rotted on the dead leaf). There are a few nutrient deficiencies that can cause "marginal necrosis" ( http://4e.plantphys.net/article.php?ch=5&id=289 ), but the whole plant in the background does not really remind me of any of them.

I get that on my container plant on the deck. It gets quite a bit more wind and heat than the rest of my tomatoes. The deck is dark gray (almost black) and it sits up in the air and hangs over a small cliff. I've always felt it was due to the wind whipping the leaves against the cage. I've never noticed it causing problems in production or health of the plant.
