Default SunSugar as a parent in new crosses?

I was pretty darn impressed with SunSugar this year. It seemed to be SunGold's equal in flavor, but with better tolerance to cracking. I made several crosses to SunSugar this summer, with F2 seed production this winter. I've read a reference or two from Tom Wagner on SunSugar as a parent, any other experience to share?

Were the skins on SunSugar as chewy as SunGold? My SG always split here after excessive rain but their skins are always chewy, regardless.

I usually find myself chewing on the skin long after the interior is gone.

I have seeds of SunCherry Extra Sweet ordered, which is supposed to be an improved "second generation" of SunCherry, which I also found to have a chewy skin.

...oh, and I just ordered SunSugar because you've piqued my curiosity.

One last word of farewell, Dear Master and Mistress.

Whenever you visit my grave,

say to yourselves with regret

but also with happiness in your hearts

at the remembrance of my long happy life with you:

"Here lies one who loved us and whom we loved."

No matter how deep my sleep I shall hear you,

and not all the power of death

can keep my spirit

from wagging a grateful tail.
