Sprouting beans is easy...this is a silly way to go about it. If he flushes the toilet with the lid up, there is a strong chance of contamination.

I agree I mainly posted it for comic relief but it is amazing what some people come up with, what I could not grasp is that the reason he built it was so if he went on vacation the beans would still get flushed out, but it works off of the toilet being flushed so if no one is there to flush then it still does not serve the original purpose.


As far as sanitary conditions go I agree that is just not right to have food in the bathroom.

Speaking of toilets, from time to time I see people growing flowers in old toilet bowls. I like people who recycle ;-)

I grew sweet peas in mine...
(actually, it was the tank, not the bowl...) and in the back yard, out in the woods!

Geez! Last night's beans make today's bean sprouts. As long as the water goes from the tank to the sprouts, and then the bowl, it sort-of makes sense...utilize the water for one purpose before it performs another function on its way to the sewer. If YOU can handle it, fine, but what will your guests think after you fed them bean sprouts for dinner, and they visit the WC before they leave?
