Default Jam... fast & easy!

I just made a batch of this today: http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/spi...microwave_jam/

It was easy, fast and yielded exactly one pint, so I'm not swimming in the stuff. I didn't grow anything in it, but did get some green figs this past week at Trader Joe's that were only so-so eaten out-of-hand. This jam, though, is *amazingly* good! So much so, in fact, that I'm going to go by Trader Joe's again this week to see if they have any more figs... I have a feeling the jar I made this morning isn't going to last very long! It's super-yummy with goat cheese on toast, and I'm sure it'll be delicious with almost any cheese. Cream cheese with this on crackers would be heaven!!

It truly is, and if you read through the comments you'll see that the author of the blog states that you can use other fruit in the same proportions to make other types of jam. Even my picky teenage daughter has enjoyed the fig-orange jam, which is really saying something because the flavors in this are (I think) lovely and complex, and she has definitely always been a "simple flavors" girl. Guess her palate is maturing!
