Less seedy eggplants?

This was my first year to grow eggplant, and my Prosperosa were all I had hoped for - except they sure have a lot of seeds in them! Is there a variety that is known to be less seedy?

My wife,who is Oriental, grows the Japanese Eggplant here in Washington. It is very productive and her favorite for taste as well and she is still harvesting them. I asked her and was told that that it didn't have many seeds.

If you have a lot of them, sell--give away the female eggplants, keep-eat the males.

To answer your next (and unspoken) question: Females have the big blossom end scar...

I grow Lavendar Touch and it does seem to have far fewer seeds as well as no bitterness. piegirl

the orientals definitely get less seedy- orient express is a good producer and easy to grow...

Ya'll got me going, just ordered seeds from 3 varieties of Asian Eggplant from Tomato Grower's Supply.

I also grow Lavender Touch, very minimal seeds, no salting required, no bitterness, a wonderful eggplant! Ping Tung Long is another favorite, mild and less seedy.

long asian types have less seeds compared to the round types, IMO.
