Harvesting has been lousy this year
Found this pathetic one behind a leaf today. Believe it or not, it's Giant Belgium!

Earl,

It's true. Terrrrible year.
Mostly my mistakes, then the weather.
In the cold spring, I tried to hurry thing by using Gibberillic acid, now I have plants over 15 feet with no fruits!!
The Green Zebras were doing great then, all the fruits got BERs. BWs are dying from wilt.
I am hoping Aunt Rubys and Great Whites will give me something to go on.

There is one mis-labeled plant (supposed to be G Zebra) that has given me a few good ones of 12 oz size red fruits, but I don't know what it is.

Nice harvest Earl - you should've tried to slip your Wes into Bully's Sad Sac competition!

dcarch - sorry to hear about your tough year with tom's.

Nice tray-o-fruit there Earl.

I got a couple of good sized fruits off my Wes this year, but production was low. I’ve only harvested about 5-6 fruits so far and only hav 2-3 green ones on the vine now.

Is this typical of your experience?

BTW, it looks like I’ll be headed up to Cinci this year for Choptag, so we’ll have to share notes on our BBQing. (no secrete recipes of course  )

I’m still planning on bringin my wings.

RIK, last year we really liked Wes so we brought it back agian this year. To return a second year, it has to taste exceptional. I'm looking forward to meeting you and trying those "Wangs!" They should be a good palate cleanser.

JJ61,
I post my troubles just to make Earl feel good. I don't want to highjack his thread. I will post my problems some other time.

I am in Westchester, NY, Zone 6.
Glad to hear you are doing good. Gives me some hope.

Good work Earl! Have your mom ever told you, "Think of all the starving people in India" when you were a little kid wasting food?

Think of all the poor people in Westchester starving for good tomatoes when you post pictures like that

dcarch :-)
