I agree with Suze on the preventative effects of seaweed. I have had better results with 2oz. per gallon instead of 1oz. I think the higher concentration works.
Suze, have you found Take down spray locally? I have not located any yet, and was trying to avoid the shipping? |

The one downside to living in a perfect climate is that the climate happens to be in Africa where sadly little or none of the brands mentioned in this forum are available.
We do, however, have seaweed extract which I plan to use regularly. In this regard, how often should one use this extract? (Ours notes that you mix it in 5ml to 1l, but also notes that it doesn't really matter as it is not possible to overdose.) |

[kelp extract]Probably about every two weeks until flowers appear,
then maybe monthly after that. It probably does not really need it after that for the nutrients, meaning that the plants will not be deficient in anything that they need to grow without it, but seaweed is said to increase the plants' tolerance to stress in general. In places with hot summers, that little extra tolerance to heat stress could improve your harvest and reduce their susceptibility to diseases that attack stressed plants with some gusto.
