Those Amazing Collards
Folks, I was working some supplements into my raised beds today when I looked down, and saw I was stepping on some young collards in the pathway. There was an old collard stalk, with new collards growing out of the end. That thing was jerked out of the ground in November, lay on the path for months, stepped on, froze on, and here it comes roaring back.
Just a little point - there is no subforum in Misc Edibles for collards, so I am putting this in Herbs. Ouch! |

Heh, that's great. Resilient things.
I hacked down my cayenne pepper at the base of them stem right before it was supposed to frost, and when I came back a couple months later and pulled the root ball out of the container, there was a bunch of new growth. Unfortunately I didn't notice until after I destroyed it.
