Default Unusual melon

Last night, during a bout of insomnia, I was watching a Cindy Crawford Informercial and they said that the base for her cosmetics line was a "rare french melon." It looked like it was a charantais type melon with a salmon colored flesh. They said that the anti-aging base component was due to the melon not rotting as fast as other melons. They used time-lapse photography to show two similar looking melons and only one rotted.

Anybody have any idea what kind of melon they were using?

A rotting melon cannot be compared to a rotting face due to age or whatever.

There's more than one French melon that has orange flesh as I recall, and if it's a Charantais, having grown both the OP true version and several hybrids, they don't rot that fast, trust me.

Since rot is just the end stage of a long process that includes ripening, would you really want a melon that never rots? There are tomatoes that have been selected for durability and long shelf life. You can get them all over the place. I wonder if a melon of tha same character wouldn;t have the same flaws?

I don't want to eat the melon, I was just curious about the "rare french melon." I had never heard of a melon that stayed "young" and didn't "age." I thought we might be able to put a name to this melon.

Anyone ever hear about this strange melon?

Enquiring minds want to know!

The webpage had such a long address that I'm just putting the site address and click "the science" and then click on the "our discovery" button so that you can see the melon.

I don't know what kind of mellon it is, but I think it would be fun to email the company and ask them.

I wonder if they would say?
