Is there anything better than fresh green peas
From the garden??!! Aside from a juicy ripe homegrown tomato (lol). Just picked my first decent haul of green peas. Though I might cook them slightly in some boiling water and toss em in a tad of butter w/ salt n pepper. Not a chance! After the wife and kids spotted them I knew I was in trouble. Because they are just as good eaten raw as cooked. Soooo I guess the small amount remaining will go into the salad tonight along with fresh mini butterhead lettuce from the garden. Ah-well maybe next time!

Nope, there isn't- although fresh sweet corn is a close second and also is soooooo good raw. For me, though, a tiny bit of cooking and a bit of good fresh unsalted butter takes both to another level of yum.My peas are flowering but we've still got a bit of a wait and my first corn planting is only about 8" tall.

Deborah- exactly! Couldn't really taste the peas in the salad. There was just too much going on in that messy bowl of leafy greens w/dressing.
Kath- corn raw is something I'll have to try! Hmmmmmm??? Damon Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2 |
