Kahala Soybeans
Hello again. Good news with my soybeans this time. Tried Kahala soybean seeds and they grow very well in my location (of course, they were meant to). It's been about 10 weeks since I planted the seeds and happy to say some are near harvest. Photo shows how high they grow, about 42 inches. I have them growing in containers in different places around my house. The ones in hot sunny locations grow shorter (20 inches) and seems to be taking longer to give pods. They also seem to do well sharing container space with cucumbers and squashes.

Yes Kurt. That is what I'm trying to do. Just have to make more space to plant them. Bought a pound of seeds that will last me maybe a whole year or more.

Interesting. What kind of yield do you expect per plant?

Do not eat all of them, should be able to use saved seeds eventually for new crops down the road.

Tlintx, just came back from the garden. I counted about 20 pods per plant. These soybeans are not really large seeded, so it would be a light yield compared to other varieties.
Kurt, at $6/pound for the seeds, I'll just buy them when I run out. |

Now the Pacific, prominently, and with a tomato plant in bloom. (sigh)
I'm packing my bags, and seed collection... I wish. At least I get to trial Hawaiian #9 sweet corn every few years. |
