Default Very Dwarf-Yellow Pygmy and Micro Gemma

Micro Gemma on the left, seed courtesy of Papa Vic, Yellow Pygmy from SSE. These guys will probably only get about 6-8 inches tall, thats my guess.

Those look so wonderful. I am doing some dwarfs this winter as well. Keep me informed on how Micro Gemma and Yellow Pygmy do for you!

Take care

I was really wrong about how tall Yellow Pygmy would get-its 18 inches tall and has set fruit-none ripe yet. Micro Gemma is 4 inches tall, has blossoms, but no fruit set yet.

I harvested and am fermenting micro-gemma. The plant got about 5 inches tall max. Tasted the fruit and its kind of citrusy tasting. Really a novelty variety, but someone could grow it with a small pot during the winter.

They sound wonderful. I love little potted varieties for the winter. Do you have any pics of the fruit (not the ones fermenting of course)

Michael,

How many tomatoes did Micro Gemma yield? About how large are the tomatoes? About how many seeds per tomato?

PV-about 25 tomatoes/they are small, I didnt weigh them, but small cherries/not real seedy. PM me so that I can replenish your seed stock please. Thanks for sending me this variety. Too bad there isnt a red version also (maybe there is) to grow side by side when we are lonely for a fresh tomato. I can tell you, they are better than store-bought.

Yes, Alan, that's where I got the original Micro Gemma seed that Michael is growing. At the time, Dr. Scott was not able to provide any Micro Tina, the red version, but was nice enough to send seed for MG and another red dwarf tomato.

I really like the looks of that Yellow Pygmy plant. I just love the general shape of the plant and its leaves. Very nice looking. Did it taste any good though?
