ladybugs

after years of trying every spider mite posion known to man- i got some ladybugs this year from high sierra ladybugs and they seem to be working as we still have no mites yet. also it has been somewhat cooler this summer. not too many 100plus days yet. i was surprised thst quite a few stayed in the garden,as they say most of them leave.

I keep a continuos colony of ladybugs around the yard every year since I bought a couple of thousand some years ago when we got saturated with 3 different kinds of whiteflys here in Homestead.When nothing is really blooming here they tend to want to find another food source.I am lucky to have a really large Gardenia bush that blooms almost all year.Underneath it I throw a lot of mulch and cuttings from yard just for them.Also the pollen mix that you can buy to mix with water to coat tree branches plants etc attract them.They will lay thier eggs close to food sources.They also need a water source(spaying/misting)when rainfall is not as abundant than normal.
