Michael, you Yellow Pygmy is the most beautiful seedling I have so far! 8)

I think Chibikko is commercially available, the others are mostly from SSE, Demidov was from Andrey, and Polyarnie is from an old Russian seed pack I inherited from my mother-in-law and never managed to plant until this year...

I'll be saving seeds for sure!

Tania....Your seedlings look great, as usual. I have seed for Chibikko, HGT, and Demidov....I am trying to restrain myself and not plant until end of Feb. as my cold frame won't be available(full of greens, etc.) to them until late April...
I am growing Fomou and Tricot Czech too, plus a handful of other dwarfs...Have you grown either of these ?
Chibikko is only offered by Canadian seed companies to my knowledge...
My Tumbler F3 seedlings are transplanted and doing well...

Tania, these are beautiful little plants! When you say suitable for small containers, what size pot do you plan to use for them? I know, bigger is always better, but what satisfactory optimum size for fruit production?

Dee,

Judging by the seedling size, I would think even 1 gal container would be sufficient for these in the first post.
However, Demidov would definitely benefit from a larger pot, 3 gal might be a better option for it since it produces larger tomatoes. Hahms Gelbes and Mohamed look like 'mini's, and I am sure they can grow well in 6" pots

Siberian and Cherry Early Dwarf - might be good for 3 gal - Michael, what do you think?

Tania-I have never grown a tomato in less than a 5 gallon container, so I dont have any experience. Guess I will try it this year maybe with a couple of my early, earlies. I know you have done so successfully, so I am going to try a couple. maybe in 3 gallons at first? I think I will try pearly pink orange and tumbler in 3 gallons.

The dehybridized Tumblers do very well in 3 gal pots; or I put 2 Tumbler plants into one 5 gal container - it works very well too. They are so sweet and ornamental too - out favorite early red cherry for pots.
