Default Planting Beets

http://www.durgan.org/URL/?HHPXE 24 April 2014 Planting Beets. Detroit Dark Red
A twelve foot row of Detroit Dark Red beets was planted using the board method. The board keeps the seeds relatively moist, protects from heavy rain, discourages birds from eating the seed until germination. The ground temperature is about 15 C and will get warmer each day.Beets will germinate at this temperature.Spacing was about two inches which is sufficient, since the new beets will slightly move if crowded.
