Default My garden in 2014

Finally have transplanted all tomatoes and peppers between May 1 and May 9 at our dacha garden.

2 greenhouses (6m x3 m)
1 coldframe (6m x 3m)
all filled with a cow manure.

1 old greenhouse is now a storage place for firewoods and garden tools.

Totally:
70 tomato plants
35 sweet peppers
5 hot peppers (more than enough for me )
About 10 early tomato plants are to be transplanted in open soil in a week or so after last risks of spring frost.

Total quantity of plants are Less than in 2000s, but I have got much less time for gardening this year and several years before.

One greenhouse are still full of seedlings of cabbages and flowers. Gonna transplant them till the end of May.
Early radish and spinach have been already eaten in April and early May salads

Cucumbers and squashes will be the next step in a week or so.

Margarita (my younger daughter) help us sometimes and really like to pose on photoes

Photoes were made on quite cheap HTC phone so the quality of pictures are Chinese

Another set of pictures "what goes around in the garden".

Nice set up! How wonderful to have so much greenhouse growing space. And your daughter is adorable!

Speaking of cucumbers, I've meant to tell you that those Nevesta white cucumber seeds you sent me as a bonus some years ago, were extremely good! I would have saved seeds if they had not been a hybrid according to the packet. So far I have not found anything similar in seed catalogs here in the U.S.

Dee, I really like Nevesta (="Bride" in English) cuke as well, but it is a hybrid. Very nice appearance (a white long Chinese type) and quite crunchy. Probably you should give it a try for several years and make an excellent OP variety from it.

What is that yellow Christmas tree shaped plant your wonderful daughter is standing next to?

The whole place looks lovely.

Thanks for positive comments to all. Margo is local star at our dacha indeed

Worth, this is a nice Alberta Spruce (Picea glauca) dwarf variety called "Daisy White".

It looks very ornamenthal in May-June when its new foliage becomes lime green to milky-white. Needles turn to green in summer. Grows about 5 cm a year.

I've got several other Canadian Conica conifers (as we called them here) with normal green foliage and of different shapes + yeses, thujas and one big Larch. You can see them all on pictures.

Andrey, nice to see where you make it happen. Your going to have a lot of visitors when Margo gets into her teens. But you can always put them to work in your dacha when they visit!

I just love seeing the gardens of folks around the world. Yours of beautiful.

Being in zone 4a, it surprises me that some of your perennials are flowering before my 6a garden. I'll be in the lookout for Daisy White. She belongs in my garden, too.
