How do elongated bell peppers grow?

How do elongated bell peppers grow?
Is it possible they grow long and pointy before they form the bell-shape?

Well, there are elongated bells that are usually called European style bells, like La Rouge Royale, for example. Then there are the blocky bells like you usually see in the stores in the US, sometimes called Holland bells. If you have an elongated variety, I don't think it will ever appear blocky with that squared off kind of shape. Is that what you mean? That said, I have had peppers in my garden that start out one shape and do seem to morph into anther slightly different shape over time. My Doe Hills start out shaped like a cherry pepper but eventually develop some ribbing on the sides and end up like a mini pumpkin. If your peppers are supposed to be elongated bells and are long and pointy, I think they'll stay pretty much that shape or maybe widen at the top, near the stem.

Funny that you say that. They are still pointy but they are indeed widening at the top.

I bought seeds of the yellow monster pepper from reimerseeds and someone else bought them from rareseeds.
We both have long pointy peppers while they should be elongated bells.
I'll put a photo online, but atm my charger doesn't work so I can't take new photos.

Well, since I don't know what variety you are growing, I can't really say. But when I think of an elongated bell, I would expect it to have a dull point at the bottom of each fruit. Not a sharp point like an Anaheim chile or a frying pepper, but I would definitely expect it to taper to narrow somewhat at the bottom. Hope that helps.
