Cloning Sun Gold questions

This winter I've kept a Sun Gold plant cloned from a sucker, from a plant grown from seed last year, for the purpose of cloning new plants for this season. To keep the plant manageable inside, I've topped it and allowed suckers to become new leaders. I've so far planted 3 suckers in starting mix, and they're doing fine. What I wonder is: will the plants propagated in this manner retain the vigor of the original plant? And how will the "parent" plant, which is a meter tall and has two clusters of flowers/green tomatoes, do if I plant it out this spring (after the brutal treatment It's been subjected to)? I'm sure somebody out there has experience or theoretical knowledge.

They should be fine, I have cloned sungold several times. The big one might be stressed for a while but it will catch right up.
