Bringing tomatoes to the 4th
I am bringing tomato slices on a platter for the burgers to a rather large 4th of July get together. I have a lot of tomatoes ripening now so I will probably take a bowl of cherries too.
My question is about salad tomatoes. There are usually a couple of green salads. What is the best way to bring tomatoes as a side to add to the salads? Do I quarter them and put them in a bowl with tongs for serving? Should I add some fresh basil? Should I sprinkle some vinegar and olive oil on them? |

If you're intending for people to add them to a green salad (which they will then dress), I'd go with naked quartered tomatoes in a bowl with tongs.
