Karen, I read your thread on your crosses and saw your pics. I don't think you will have ANY trouble finding people to try them!

I had two plants of Pruden's Purple last year. Both were planted later in the year and produced close to 12 pounds of tomatoes each. Unfortunately many had to be picked green, as the weather was deteriorating fast. The taste was good (7 to 8) but to say exceptional..., I have to pick it in the best conditions in the middle of the season. That is why I am growing it again. It has nice size maters already. I am looking forward to it.

Aunt Gerties Gold is a favorite but not productive. This year I'm trying KBX and Little Lucky. I'm a fan of the PL varieties also. On my next year list is Spudatula, and Indian Stripe PL for starters.

I don't like PL. They are prone to mold in my location. But out of 32 varieties 2 of them are PL : JBT and Brandy Boy.
JBT is repeat and am trying BrBy based on raved reviews and also that is one of 2 hybrids that I am growing.

One of my faves is German Queen, makes leaves bigger than my hand, and wonderful fruit.

Brandywine Sudduth, Green Giant, KBX, plus a de-hybridized "PL 'black cherry'" (offspring from purple haze).

This is my first year growing PLs. But so far, my hands-down favorite is Medovaya Kaplya.

Robert, it is not fair. You are comparing small tomatoes to the rest of them. My DH and son both like Black Cherry the most. If there was tomato that taste just like it but bigger... Frankly, they do not even need it bigger. If they have to say what to grow it would be "BC and ONLY BC".
I am still looking for that perfect tomato taste in beefsteak tomatoes, better if it is PL and black, of course.
