Peppers are very dependent on weather. The hotter and dryer,the hotter the pepper. I've had anaheims and poblano so too hot for my chile head husband. Yet, I've had jalapeños that are crazy,habanero hot mid-summer and the same plant produces sweet bell peppers in cooler times of year.

I'm growing the "Fooled You" this year and find them really good if you want the jalapeno flavor without the heat...IMO.
