First Time in the PNW
Today I had my first tomato. It was a Bear Claw and it was the first time I've had a ripe Tomato before my Birthday(27 July) here in the PNW.

Good, JWR.
I am in PNW ( Redmond ,WA area) too and growing a Bear Claw. But mine has some/few very small fruits but I have picked ripe cherry, grape and Big Beef already. So it amazes my that you picked ripe Bear Claw. Gardeneer |

I'm farther north, near the border. So far, I've picked Italian Heirloom, Costoluto Genovese, Wentzell, Cole, Willamette, Black Cherry, NOT Northern Delight and Gardener's Sweetheart. I've even got red bell peppers already! What a summer!

Incredible year , indeed.
Actually my peppers (Mostly hot and super hot) are doing even better than my tomatoes. Gardeneer |

On the Kitsap Peninsula here, with only a handful of ripe Sun Gold. I do have some Black Sea Man and Bradley just starting to break color. I couldn't say if it's early or not since this is only my second(real gardening) season back in the area.

Although this has been a nice and warm season, but believe it or not, last year my tomatoes ripened earlier than this season. Both seasons I planted out the same time ( Mid April on).
Last year I picked a ripe SiletZ on July 7th. This year looks like it will be Aug 7th. And both years I grew from seeds. I am puzzled !!! Any Ideas , as why ?x Gardeneer |

I've picked 8-10 Stupices, an Oregon Spring, over 4 lbs of Gold Nuggets and a couple pounds of Sungolds. Since we are finally getting some rain, I picked other varieties that are starting to blush so that they don't split. My Siletz has a lot of greenies, but none are starting to turn yet either.
