Yes, the time of the season and the heat are big factors, too.
Any of those "ones that got away" pods we let go on for seed. Love the idea of grinding the dried okra for powder, great idea! Try throwing them on the grill- no slime, and so tasty! We do love it that way, and also pickled with a medium hot pepper, too. We don't put any shade up for okra here, ours always seem to thrive in the heat, the hotter the better- you just have to trot out and check them everyday in really hot weather as the pods just grow so fast. |
