Favorite Inexpensive Source for Flower Seed
Where are you buying your flower seed? I am especially looking for a short zinnia for our plant sale. Our grower says he is not making a profit on the Profusion Zinnias he has grown in previous years. I am not a fan of the compact, domed head type of zinnias. We are looking for other annuals as well. It seems some seeds have really taken a jump in price.

Check out www.swallowtailgardenseeds.com and see if they have what you want for a decent price; I like them very much. I also buy a lot from Stokes seeds and Jung, even some flower seed from Harris Seeds. A lot of times, I'm looking for specific colors rather than mixes and have better luck at Stokes and Swallowtail. The seeds seem to germinate well. I also have good luck with flower seeds from Parks-they're usually packed in foil packets and seem to keep well. Almost forgot another favorite, www.selectseeds.com . They also sell very good quality plants. Good luck.

Magellan and Dreamland are excellent zinnias with 4-5" flowers on short, 12-14" plants. Park and Swallowtail have both, and Park has 20% off seeds today. Pinetree also has a good selection at reasonable prices, but not these two.

I grow my own seeds. It's the most affordable way to have exactly what I want in as large a quantity as I care to have.

Hazzard's seed store. Since you are planning on having a sale, they have a large selection and sell in 100 seed quantities and even larger amounts. I've always had good luck with their seed.
