Looking for starts near Birmingham, AL
I always say "next year I'm starting my own" and I never actually do. So, I end up buying Bonnie plants mostly from the local HD. They have done well for me generally. This past weekend, however, I went to check them out and they look awful with signs of leaf disease already.
Does anyone know of a plant source for tomatoes and peppers somewhat local to the Birmingham area? I'm willing to drive a reasonable distance. I was thinking of trying the farmers market at Pepper Place this Saturday. I'm looking for a good variety of heirlooms. Thanks! Laura |

Darrell Jones is in Hamilton and he has always started a lot of wonderful varieties. I don't know how far that is from you. He is on T'ville, of course.

Bad news - the big box retailers were blamed for shipping around a lot of blight a year or so back.
Darrell's site is http://www.selectedplants.com/ ; it's worth the trip! |
