This is a Russian CV from Siberian seed vendor Sibirskiy Sad and it is called Gribnoe Lukoshko (Mushroom Basket in English).

More important to me is what does it taste like and like many other so called pleated ones is it partially hollow, like Zapotec and Accordian and friends? Carolyn

Mushroom Basket is a beautiful tomato, and, yours are exceptional. I grew MB a few years ago, thanks to BrokenBar, and mine were smaller than yours.
Mine were so small, and a bit hollow and seedy, I don't remember the flavor... I just threw them in with some other tomatoes for sauce. Ginny Last edited by barefootgardener; July 19, 2016 at 08:30 AM. |

You know I don't like Purple Calabash,or even the red version, and they aren't usually semi-hollow as is Mushroom Basket is as has been noted. So why would I want to grow Mushroom Basket? Fact is, given all the varieties I might want to grow,MB is NOT high on my priority list, possibly in about 500th position. Carolyn, who grows tomatoes first for taste, then yield, etc.
