Strange cucumber problem
Hello all,
At first, we were graced with what I thought were unusually large 'Lebanese' cucumbers (like the leftmost one in the last picture). After this first round of fruits, the next batch are all small and crinkly. What could it be? They're in an Earthtainer, and I think I've put plenty, maybe too much of granular organic fertilizer. I've attached some pictures. Last edited by Salaam; August 9, 2016 at 11:42 AM. |

Oh I have that too. I assumed it was those darned Cucumber Beetles munching on them. Now I have to peel before eating them......
Last year, the cuke beetles carried some dread disease that finished off my cukes. This year I tried sprinking Diatamaceous Earth around the base of each plant and they did really well for a long time. Meanwhile, my friend down the road kept complaining of swarms of beetles every day while I never saw one - until we had a strong wind, and then I understood her frustration! Edited to add: I'm so sorry. I realize that I didn't answer the question that you were asking. I don't have a clue about the variety. Linda Last edited by Labradors2; August 11, 2016 at 10:48 AM. |
