Gurney's
I'm ordering some fruit trees and berry bushes from Gurney's. Anyone know if they take the money right away or when they ship?

Shipping of fruit and berry trees usually depends on your zone. They ship late enough in the spring so they don't freeze and die in the mail.

Sorry! Let me clarify. When are they going to charge my card? Now or in spring when they ship?

FWIW, my family had bought from Gurney's for generations, but I quit ten years or so ago after repeated very poor performance from nursery stock. That doesn't mean you'll have that experience, but you might want to check recent ratings at dave's garden to see what experiences others have had recently.
In case you don't know how to check daves garden, do a search for scoop on (whatever the seed source is) then read what people say, not just the ratings. Sometimes problems people have aren't something that would affect what you want to buy -- sometimes they are -- but those ratings at daves garden do give you an idea what sort of experiences others have had. Thank you JLJ!
I looked at them and it seems if I order early winter and only order no special stuff I should be okay. Fingers crossed anyways.
