Sure, I do understand that, and it likely caused lower and slower germination in those two seed varieties. It's just that everything else I have started seems a bit slower than it should be as well so I can't blame it all on improper saving of a couple of tomatoes.

Like I said, no big deal. I am new to seed starting and will hopefully get better.

I start seeds in cell packs on heat mats under lights and take the plastic dome off as soon as they start sprouting. I also remove the heat mat after the majority have sprouted.

Since my cells are square I can cut them apart if I have some that I want to keep on a mat and I cover those cells with saran wrap until the seeds sprout.
