Multi coloured tomato seeds a scam?
Has anyone seen the ads on Facebook for multi coloured tomatoes on website consignmenter.com? I'm sceptical, very sceptical but intrigued. They also advertise purple and blue tomatoes.

Definitely not a place I would shop. Their not a specialty seed store. If your looking for rainbow colored tomatoes and the blue ones, lots of excellent Tv sellers here and some even ship internationally.

There is a dwarf tomato called rainbow dwarf. It's supposed to give multicolored tomatoes. I'm not sure what color the seeds are though.

And I remember when you could buy one pack of seeds, the seeds were colored differently and IDed as to variety by the color of the seeds.
I Googled to see if I could find something similar, and this was all that I found. https://www.seedsnow.com/products/to...w-mix#chapter4 Carolyn

It isn't a scam anymore than any other advertising like this.
Even big corporations do it. When was the last time you walked into a burger joint and got a burger that looked like the pictuer? It is also no more right than what the big corporations do. Nowhere in that advertisement does it say these are what the tomatoes will look like. It lets you make that decision/assumption in your mind. Worth |

Maybe they will throw in some blue strawberry seeds with your order:
https://www.reddit.com/r/gardening/c...y_seeds_being/ The beauty of it all is that it takes months before you realise you have been ripped off, long enough beyond the ebay/paypal feedback periods to expire beyond you being able to get your money back. Not to mention growing anything from tiny seeds is always tough, many people will just fail and give up, or realise the fake and not do anything about it. Please avoid falling for the same scam I did. |
